  • Katie Ovink

    Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Kathryn (Katie) Ovink grew up in Richland, WA with her parents and older sister. After high school, she enrolled at Kalamazoo College in Michigan, where she completed an undergraduate degree in Chemistry. During her time at Kalamazoo College, she participated in a vet-focused 7-month study abroad program in Australia. After receiving her BA, she took a year off and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area as a nanny for her niece as well as a pet wrangler at a swanky pet hotel. Katie then returned to Washington and got her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Washington State University. During her doctoral studies at WSU, she had the opportunity to travel to Nicaragua with World Vets to help with a spay/neuter clinic. After vet school, she moved to Spokane Valley to be with her now-husband, Ian. She has spent the last 9 years working as an associate veterinarian in Idaho. In her free time, Katie enjoys the outdoors, exercising, reading, traveling, and watching an assortment of silly reality TV (her favorite show is Survivor!) She lives with her husband Ian, Dexter (a terrier mix), and rescue cat Kiva. Katie enjoys the variety of cases that veterinary medicine brings, getting to work with clients to formulate care plans for their furry family members, and getting to watch her patients grow up, helping them through each stage of their life. Katie looks forward to bringing her knowledge and enthusiasm to a new community in her home state!
